Even though a plan for a school wide PBL project was developed and shared with the entire staff, not all of the homerooms participated. Understandably, the demands of the project, coupled with beginning of the year procedures (SLO data collection, MTSS data collection, etc.), were overwhelming for some teachers new to PBL. Regardless, we agreed that we would move forward with the project students had been working so hard to create. We invited Robert Price (Mayor of Locust Grove), Shane Smith (SCS Landscape) , Misty Garvin (Luella Middle School), Ross McQueen (President, Henry Co. Farm Bureau), and Sarah Lesley (UGE Counselor) to serve on the judges panel. The winning project received $500 to implement the idea to increase school pride at UGE. All of the projects were phenomenal, which made it a difficult decision. However, only one team could be selected and it was decided that Mrs. Pringle's 4th grade class had the highest scores for the presentation. We can't wait to unveil the new flags at UGE!
